UQ Professor Anthony Smith joins WHO Digital Health expert panel

Professor Anthony Smith has been selected to join the roster of experts for the World Health Organisation (WHO) Digital Health Advisory Committee.  During March 2019, expressions of interest were invited by the international agency of the United Nations.  A selection process took place and appointments were offered in September 2019.  Professor Smith explained that his role on the WHO committee will result in further collaboration amongst digital health experts, and involvement in projects which align with the WHO’s goal of sustainable health care and promotion of well-being for people of all ages.  The creation of a targeted WHO committee and expert panel highlights the importance of digital health from a global perspective.
