This is an extremely notable achievement, as the award celebrates the exceptional research achievements and leadership potential of individual early and mid-career researchers. Jaimon was nominated amongst several successful UQ researchers of various research backgrounds.

He was recognised for his contributions to increasing accessibility of video-interpreter services for culturally and linguistically diverse communities, which helps address health inequity gaps in Queensland. To highlight his research focus, UQ developed a short video, which you can watch here.

This is not the first time Jaimon has won a highly prestigious award. In 2022 Dr Kelly was also awarded an esteemed Vice Chancellor’s Award for Early Career Research Excellence for outstanding research and contribution and impact, in recognition of his pioneering telehealth-delivered nutrition research in chronic disease.

The COH is very lucky to have Jaimon as part of the team and we are excited for his future research and achievements. A massive congratulations, Jaimon!
