UQ-COH Telehealth Training Services – A range of options catered to your needs
UQ-COH’s vast and deep telehealth knowledge and experience has been translated into bespoke training services. These services are informed by best practice pedagogical theory and practice. Based on more than 20 years of experience, UQ-COH recommends carefully designed education and training opportunities that provide participants with essential skills to apply telehealth in clinical practice. UQ-COH have provided training across a range of services, both public and private for the past 15 years. Teaching strategies are flexible, practical, and interactive. UQ-COH’s telehealth training includes real-life examples of how telehealth is used for the delivery of clinical services (e.g. case studies involving video consultations, remote patient monitoring, telementoring & telephone); skills and strategies to optimise the use of telehealth (video consultation); how to use the software (video conference system); how to troubleshoot; and how to best integrate telehealth into your routine practice (developing new models of care).
A summary of UQ-COH’s training services is presented below.
- In-Person Workshops. UQ-COH experts provide interactive telehealth workshops that bring a practical approach to improving effectiveness of telehealth and increasing the confidence of the users of telehealth. The In-Person Workshops can run between three hours through to three days.
- Virtual Workshops. Delivered via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, the live Virtual Workshops can reach participants regardless of location. They have similar content to the In-Person Workshops but adapted for an online environment. These workshops continue to be interactive, but participation is usually capped at 10 people per session.
- Telehealth ECHO. UQ-COH is an accredited Project ECHO® replication provider, and has several years’ experience with the planning, promotion, organisation, coordination and evaluation of ECHO services (see https://uqecho.org/). A telementoring program will support the delivery of any telehealth service and can increase the acceptance and effectiveness of telehealth by clinicians/users. UQ-COH can offer a monthly videoconference session using the validated Project ECHO™ format. UQ-COH can deliver monthly Telehealth ECHO sessions or coordinate ECHO sessions on a range of health specialties. Every Telehealth ECHO session will run for 60 minutes and will include a 15 minute lecture from a telehealth expert, followed by a case presentation or issue (suggested by one of the participants). The sessions will be engaging, and provide all staff with access to telehealth experts, as they develop their own programs and telepractice skills. The ECHO model will ensure that experience is shared amongst the network, reflecting a community of practice.
- The Telehealth Training Portal. The online portal/ website hosts a comprehensive range of online lessons, telehealth resources and a telehealth-expert moderated online discussion forum. This training service is the most flexible of the training services, wherein participants subscribe to access lessons that address their learning needs. The participant can choose to learn at a basic level through viewing recorded lectures (average 10-minute lecture) or delve into the topic by accessing the additional resources.
UQ-COH also offers subscribing organisations a range of evaluation services that assesses the learning outcomes of training participants.
Visit our Consultancy webpage for further details on workshops, or feel free to Contact Us for more information about any of the above training services.
