Nearly 50% of Australians have at least one chronic condition such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes or chronic kidney disease. Ineffective management of chronic disease is estimated to cost the Australian health system $320 million each year and is a major driver for developing new models of care. With the right support, many individuals could effectively self-manage a chronic condition in the community.
The Centre for Online Health is undertaking research in a range of topics related to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and chronic liver disease.
