The number of smartphone users globally is around 2 billion and growing, with 86% of Australians accessing the internet using a mobile or smart phone. Mobile health – known as mHealth – involves using the computing power and internet connectivity in our pockets to support healthcare services. mHealth has a variety of uses, including apps for the screening, assessment, and monitoring of health conditions. The Centre for Online Health is undertaking mHealth research on a diverse range of topics including weight loss, headache disorders, and diabetes care.
